Our students have told us most are doing well for the hands-on section of their Chemistry Practicals.
Most are able to follow the step-by-step procedures given in the practical exam and thus get the necessary marks.
Instead, students always complain that they are struggling with:
A) the handling of the data/results from their hands-on practical
B) the practical theory questions which are linked back to their Chemistry Concepts (theories)
C) which topics are tested
D) Planning a Chemistry Experiment to Investigate.
As such, they struggled to pass or score in their Chemistry Practicals.
With a strong foundation of:
- skill sets to handle all kinds of data/results collected in a practical exam
- sound basic essential Chemistry concepts
- knowing which topics in the syllabus will only be tested in a Chemistry Practical Exam (NOT all topics will be tested)
- Key Points to include in Planning a Chemistry Experiment question
students will be able to take Chemistry Practical Examination with confidence (20% weightage) and aim to secure their Distinction (A1/2) for Pure Chemistry.
